FxVisor v2.0 (Shorcut overlay remover): FxVisor, former Vista Shortcut Overlay Remover now called Vista Shortcut Manager allows you to remove the shortcut overlay arrow on shorcuts or to customize it to a light arrow or custom arrow. This is for VISTA only, NOT winxp! The best working alternative is a registry tweak with the “Shell Icons Method”. Instructions here.
