TweakUAC 1.0

System - Installation, Configuration and Tweaking

Added to my selection today.
TweakUAC 1.0: With TweakUAC you can quickly turn UAC (User Account Control of Windows Vista) on or off, or make UAC operate in the quiet mode. No installation needed. In the quiet mode, UAC does not display the elevation prompts for the administrators. In quiet mode you keep all the positive effects of UAC, such as Internet Explorer operating in the protected mode, applications starting without the administrative privileges by default, etc. Far more secure then turning UAC off completely!

The quiet mode in TweakUAC is basicaly a registry tweak at HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ System\ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin. The default DWORD value is 2 for on, the value 0 (zero) is for off.

The UAC enablestate is being managed in registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows
\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\EnableLUA.
The default DWORD value is 1 for on, and the value of 0 (zero) for off.
